This weeks “week in review” encompasses two very hectic weeks for us at Fiordland Historic Cruises. We’ve sailed, we adventured, including a family day at the newly opened “Woodstone Farm” a farm experience right here in Te Anau, we’ve re-fuelled to get ahead of the fuel crisis and we’ve attended Warbirds Over Wanaka.
It was such a joy to have the laughter of young children on board, we love giving kids a truly hands on experience, and these guys all the way from Scotland had an absolute blast! We even sailed past their Nan and Pop’s house! How cool. On one of our champagne cruises, we were joined by a honeymooning couple who mentioned they have a family boat… what a vessel she is, same engine, same error as our Faith. We spent quite some time with them after passengers had departed sharing stories, and striking up quite the friendship. We can’t wait to visit with them in Oregon in the US.
This week has our Champagne cruises have come to a close, with the conclusion of daylight savings hours. This just does feel that winter is getting closer! What a Stella evening we had on our final night of sailing.
Warbirds Over Wanaka was a joy to attend. Adam has a very crucial role in the airshow, running the radio’s in the control tower over the 4 days of flying. (Thursday is a practice day). As we knew that Adam would be super busy, Paige (my youngest daughter) and I ran a trade booth at the show. This was so great connecting with people and sharing stories of our beautiful Faith. Thank you to everyone who popped in to see us, who signed up for cruises, and who purchased some of our merchandise that will see Faith continue her restoration journey.
There’s so much that Te Anau has to offer, so come on down and join us!
