Week in review – Episode 8

Adam and I have just been saying as we write this, that the weeks go by so fast that doing these week in reviews have been a great way to look back on all the days that go by so fast. I (Megan) Started my week at School Camp with Fiordland College year 11, in Mavora lakes. And recommend that if you get the chance, it’s most defiantly a great place to visit and camp.

The chillier mornings are upon us now, as we’ve had our first frosts, this does mean that we are met with beautiful clear days, perfect for sailing. There is a abundance of life in the forest right now and we are eagerly waiting the fungi spores!

We’ve had some magic evenings over at Dock Bay with our Evening Champagne Cruises. Spot the bubbles from the Anchor as it returns on deck. Dock Bay Brod Bay are such special spots for these cruises, so close to the wilderness of the national park that you can see and hear the birdlife.

Restoration continues including external painting and the stripping back of the life jacket boxes. It’s been so busy Adam was spotted with paint on his face during a safety briefing!

We were unable to sail on Thursday again due to lake state and we moved Faith from her wharf down to the Mooring to protect her from the elements, In this clip there is a time laps of just what it takes in the rough when we put her down on the mooring that we are ever grateful to have access too. The mooring is a critical part of our operation.

What a magic weather day Saturday was and so great to see the lake how it should be, being enjoyed by all! Jetsking waterskiing sailing boats and another Flyby from Cruise Te Anau! Lake Te Anau is just the most amazing office and such a special corner of the world, we are so privileged to share and showcase it to you all!

Until next week, stay safe,

Megan & Adam and the team at Fiordland Historic Cruises.
