What an amazing number of passengers we have welcomed on board this week! Thank you to all that have travelled with us! It’s so fascinating to meet so many special individuals and we marvel everyday how connected we all can be!
Again the weather has thrown us a mixed bag, from beautiful moody days to also the first scatter of snow across the tops that made for a fresh start on Tuesday morning!
We love the moody skies that the unpredictable weather provides us, really showcasing why Fiordland is named Shadow land!
Faiths restoration of the life jacket boxes continues with Adam taking each down time moment to remove the old varnish in preparation for new oil to be applied.
In the forrest Autumn is starting to show signs of coming and we were privileged to see the Dog Vomit slime, fluorescent yellow in colour that only lasts 2 days before changing.
It was a shorter week for our operation this week taking the Saturday to enjoy the yearly Mandeville fly in day near Gore. This airport has a special place in Adam’s heart having been the chief pilot for operations there for 7 years from 2013 – 2020. Their restoration programs of other aircraft and also the steam train, is so similar to our operation and we feel it’s super important to support others, especially those doing a similar thing to us, keeping history alive! – Please visit as you go by.. @croydonaviationheritagecentre
